Announcement of Public Hearing

To comply with federal requirements, the Area Agency on Aging will conduct a Public Hearing via Zoom at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

The Agency will invite comments on a Direct Service Waiver request that is part of the Strategic Plan Update submitted to the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA).

We are requesting ODA approval on the following:
1) Health Education Services: to allocate $28,116 in Title III-D funds and $73,500 in state Senior Community Services funds to directly provide the Healthy U program.

The rationale for direct provision of this service is that the Agency can provide both more efficiently and effectively for the nine-county area than a contracted provider. The Agency held a Request for Proposals for this service in 2021 with initial interest from four outside organizations who did not submit proposals.
