Older Americans Month Theme Announced and Activities Planned

The 2019 theme for Older Americans Month (OAM) in May – Connect, Create, Contribute – aims to encourage older adults and communities to connect with friends, family, and services that support participation; create by engaging in activities promoting learning, health, and personal enrichment; and contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others. The Administration for Community Living leads OAM each year to illustrate how communities strengthen themselves by encouraging the contributions of their older adults.

The Area Agency on Aging, PSA 2 (AAA) joins our nine county councils/coalitions on aging to celebrate Senior Day in May and honor an Outstanding Senior Citizen in each county.  Click here to see the list of OAM activities and contacts in our nine-county region. Many events require tickets or advance registration.

AAA continues to accept nominations for 2019 Outstanding Senior Citizen awards through March 29. Click here for the nomination guidelines and form.
