The Area Agency on Aging offers a variety of informational aging resources so you can be more well-informed. Our collaboration with the State of Ohio and other community partners means that you will always have a wealth of helpful materials just a few clicks away.

Ohio’s Area Agencies on Aging

We are one of twelve Area Agencies on Aging in Ohio. While we serve families in west central Ohio, we can collaborate with the Ohio aging network to help find solutions for you and your loved ones. If you live outside of Ohio, give us a call and we can work to connect you to your local Area Agency on Aging.

Information About Medicare

ABOUT MEDICARE

Medicare is health insurance for people:

  • age 65 and older
  • under age 65 with certain disabilities
  • of any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), which is permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant.

There are four different parts of Medicare to help cover specific services.

  • Part A – hospital insurance
  • Part B – medical insurance
  • Part C – Medicare Advantage Plans (like an HMO or PPO)
  • Part D – Medicare prescription drug coverage

People with limited income and resources may qualify for help paying medical expenses, including prescriptions and Medicare premiums, deductibles, and copayments. The financial qualifications change annually, so contact us for current eligibility guidelines and information on the application process.

The Ohio Housing Locator is a free, statewide service to search for Ohio rental housing, including units that are affordable, accessible, and serve older adults. Ohio’s Energy Assistance Programs help income-eligible individuals better manage their utility bills.
