Celebrate Older Americans Month in May

Each May we celebrate Older Americans Month (OAM), and the theme for 2017 is “Age Out Loud.”  This theme shines a light on many important trends: older Americans are working longer, trying new things, and engaging in their communities. They’re taking charge, striving for wellness, focusing on independence, and advocating for themselves and others.

What it means to age has changed, and OAM is a perfect opportunity to recognize and celebrate what getting older looks like today. Plan to join one or more of the OAM celebrations that are planned in each of the nine counties of our region this May. Join us as we speak up and out loud for OAM, amplifying the many voices of older Ohioans and raising awareness of vital aging issues.
