The Area Agency on Aging, PSA 2’s 2024 Be a Santa to a Senior program features 45 partner organizations donating gifts to benefit 300 older adults in Clark, Greene and Montgomery counties. The Agency has been conducting this program for ten years.
Agency case managers provide names of enrolled consumers for holiday gifts. Partner organizations indicate how many people they can “adopt” and are given each person’s gift list.
In early December, partner organizations purchase and deliver gifts to the Agency, Agency staff members engage in a wrapping party and case managers deliver gifts to enrolled consumers before the holidays. During the pandemic, the Agency’s Board of Trustees approved gift cards to be mailed to consumers in place of donated gifts.
“Seeing the joy brought to our consumers year after year thanks to our generous partner network helps remind us of the reason for the season,” explained Agency Executive Director, Douglas McGarry. “We look forward to many more years of giving to come and thank all partners and staff members who work to make this possible each year.”
