The Ohio Department of Aging encourages older Ohioans and caregivers to have an emergency plan and kit that will allow them to remain in place for at least three days if they are unable to safely leave their homes. People are also asked to please check on older neighbors, family members and friends or others who may need assistance to ensure they are safe, warm, and have food, water, their needed medications and other necessities. In case of snow and ice, help to ensure they have cleared and salted driveways and walkways if possible.
