Caring for a loved one with dementia can be challenging. Understanding the brain changes experienced by the person living with dementia can help caregivers to anticipate and overcome barriers to meeting their loved one’s needs. Using recommendations based on occupational therapy principles and evidence-based practice, this free, online workshop will discuss strategic supports to help with activities like bathing, dressing and toileting, and offer the opportunity for caregivers to troubleshoot daily challenges of caregiving for a person living with dementia.
Presenter is Elizabeth Brandenburg, a Kettering College Occupational Therapy Doctoral Student.
This topic is also presented as an online workshop 11am-Noon on Wednesday, March 13. The virtual workshop requires separate registration from the in-person March 15 workshop. Please contact Mary Hairston for more information.
