With counties in our region along the path of totality for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, local and state emergency management agencies recommend preparations in case anticipated crowds cause traffic jams and overloaded communications networks. Besides having authorized eclipse glasses to safely view the spectacle, it’s recommended to fill gas tanks the week before, have backup plans in case home help or meals can’t arrive, double-check that offices are open that day, etc.
