The Area Agency on Aging offers free activities for family caregivers and professionals working with older adults in September:
Caregiver Nature Walk – 11am-Noon Saturday, Sept. 14, at Eastwood MetroPark, Main Entrance at 1385 Harshman Road. Meet in the Pioneer Center before walking a one-mile section of the Mad River Paved Trail. The trail is paved and flat, offering an easy, faster-paced walk. Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather. Sunscreen and hat are recommended. All participants are eligible to receive a free copy of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers resource book. Led by Five Rivers MetroParks Nature Guide. No registration needed.
Financial Scams-A Workshop for Family Caregivers webinar, 11am-Noon Thursday, Sept. 19. Amy Carles from the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel will address various financial scams to protect yourself and your loved ones from in this free, online workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. Advance registration requested by Sept. 17 in order to receive the Zoom link.
