September is Senior Center Month

Celebrated each September, National Senior Center Month spotlights the vital role senior centers play in the health and well-being of older adults.  The Agency’s region features outstanding senior and community centers that offer programming and resources specific to the interests and needs of older adults. Senior centers provide dynamic and lively programming that focuses on education, socialization, exercise and activities of interest. 

Created by the National Council on Aging, this year’s theme for National Senior Center Month is “Powering Possibilities:  Flip the Script,” a theme that challenges outdated perceptions of aging and senior centers.  It highlights and celebrates the role that senior centers play in fostering creativity, connection, purpose and resilience.
