Announcement of Public Hearing

To comply with federal requirements, the Area Agency on Aging will conduct a Public Hearing at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Spring Meade Retirement Community, 4385 County Road 25-A, Tipp City.

The Agency will invite comments on the Strategic Area Plan Update and on two Direct Service Waiver requests that are part of the Strategic Plan. The rationale for direct provision of these services is that the Agency can provide both more efficiently and effectively for the nine county area than a contracted provider.

We are requesting ODA approval on the following Direct Service waivers:

1. Health Education Services:  to allocate $28,115 in Title III-D funds and $73,500 in state Senior Community Services funds to directly provide the Healthy U and Eat Smart Live Strong programs.
2. Nutrition Education: to allocate $3,320 in Title III-C funds to provide the nutrition education service (where the Community Services Manager, our staff dietician, assists our contracted meal providers with the development of nutrition education materials).
