The Agency’s July activities include Nature Walks in Montgomery and Miami counties:
- Five Rivers MetroParks hosts a free Caregiver Nature Walk 11am-Noon Wednesday, July 10, at Cox Arboretum MetroPark, 67633 Springboro Pike, Dayton. Meet at the Water Garden Terrace for a guided walk following the paved-loop path. This 1/2-mile accessible path passes arboretum highlights. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and dress for the weather. Sunscreen and hat are recommended.
- Miami County Parks District hosts a free Caregiver Nature Walk 11am-Noon Wednesday, July 24, at Charleston Falls Preserve, 2535 Ross Road, Tipp City. Join a park naturalist introducing adult mindfulness and meditation practice. This walk is a great opportunity to get out in nature and learn together – takes about one hour, is neither strenuous nor fast-paced, and open to all. Depending on the weather, trails may be wet. Participants are asked to meet at the trailhead near the parking lot and to wear appropriate shoes.
- These walks are open to everyone interested, caregiver or no. But information and materials about services and resources helpful for family caregivers is available at both walks. Pre-registration for the walks is helpful but drop-ins are always welcome.
- Contact Caregiver Services Coordinator Mary Hairston at 937-341-6944 or mhairston@info4seniors.org for more information.
