Caregiver’s Book Club-Reading for Renewal

Being a caregiver can often feel isolating and finding time to care for yourself can be difficult. This book club is designed to support those who provide care for family members, friends, or loved ones. Join the Miami Township Branch of the Dayton Metro Libraries and the Area Agency on Aging to connect, unwind, and recharge through the shared experience of reading and discussion. Opportunities to share caregiving tips, discuss challenges, and learn about local resources will also be available.

Each month will feature a new book focusing on topics that resonate with the caregiving experience, and reflect the diverse experiences of caregiving. Selections may include memoirs, fiction, or non-fiction.

Caregivers of all types—whether caring for a child, spouse, parent, or any loved one—are welcome to join. Whether new to caregiving or have years of experience, you’ll find a supportive and understanding environment. Books scheduled are:

June 10, 2025, 6-7pm: Letters from Madelyn by Elaine K. Sanchez

July 8, 2025, 6-7pm: Positive Caregiving: Caring for Older Loved Ones Using the Power of Positive Emotions by Sarah Teten Kanter

August 12, 6-7pm: The Soul of Care: the Moral Education of a Husband and a Doctor by Arthur Kleinman

A limited number of each month’s book selection will be available at the Miami Township library branch.
