Estate planning is an important process that helps individuals protect their assets, communicate their wishes, and prepare for future life events. Many people are unfamiliar with the legal documents involved in estate planning and may not understand when or why they are needed. This workshop provides attendees with an overview of common documents and their purpose, helping professionals better assist older adults and families in making informed decisions. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how these tools can help individuals maintain control over their affairs, protect their loved ones, and plan for the future.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify common estate planning documents and their purpose.
  • Understand when appropriate documents should be used.
  • Determine who is empowered by these documents and the decisions they are authorized to make.

Presenter:

  • Benjamin Worsowicz has been practicing estate planning and elder law in Ohio for 13 years. A graduate of Capital University Law School, he has practiced in every corner of the state, with families of every shape and size. Mr. Worsowicz currently practices in Beavercreek, Ohio at the W firm, which he started in 2026.

This workshop offers 3.0 clock hours for social workers, #RSX089101. The Ohio Board of Nursing accepts events approved for counselors and social workers for continuing nursing education.
