Free, Online Medication Management Workshop for Older Adults

May 11, 2022

The Agency sponsors Generation Rx as a free, online workshop for older adults 10-11am on Friday, May 20. Registration is requested by May 18 in order to receive the Zoom link. To register contact Kelsey Haus at khaus@info4seniors.org or 937-341-3020.

Guest speaker Dr. Roseanne Scammahorn is a Family and Consumer Sciences Educator for Ohio State University Extension, as well as  an advocate for Generation Rx—a nationwide educational initiative to promote safe medication practices in an effort to prevent misuse of prescription drugs. Generation Rx is being offered through a partnership between the Cardinal Health Foundation and The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.

Did you know that the misuse of prescription medications is one of our country’s most pressing public health problems, with adverse drug events being a significant issue for older adults? This educational workshop will address ways to decrease the risk for adverse drug events, the safe storage and disposal of medications, as well as prescription drug misuse in our country. The educational program includes engaging activities that focus on safe medication practices, and there is an opportunity for the audience to participate in a Q&A session.
