Help Older Neighbors In Extreme Weather

A winter storm is predicted to bring inches of heavy, wet snow throughout our region Tuesday night into Wednesday. Check now that older neighbors and family members are prepared with supplies for warmth and safety with bottled water for continued hydration, food that doesn’t require cooking, warm blankets and clothing, enough quantities of medications on-hand, pet food supplies, flashlights and extra batteries, a battery-operated radio, etc. Check regularly throughout snowy, icy and cold weather to ensure their personal safety and help to keep their walkways and driveways cleared if possible. The Ohio Department of Aging provides tips on checking on neighbors, and on emergency preparedness for older adults and caregivers.

If applicable, information about regional warming centers will be posted here as details become available.
