As cold weather and snowy conditions that have hit our area, take a moment to check that your older neighbors and family members are safe and prepared. The Ohio Department of Aging provides tips on checking on neighbors and on emergency preparedness for older adults and caregivers. Check regularly throughout the cold weather to ensure their personal safety and help to keep their walkways and driveways cleared if possible.

The City of Dayton offers three warming center that will be open weekdays – 6am-9pm, Saturday – 9am-4pm. If outside of these hours, individuals are referred to stop at the St. Vincent DePaul shelters.
