Public Comment on Ohio’s Draft 2027-2030 State Plan on Aging

August 14, 2026

The Older Americans Act periodically requires each state to develop a new state plan on aging. Ohio’s draft 2027-2030 State Plan on Aging (State Plan) is now available for public review and comments until August 30. The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE) developed the State Plan with the support of the Health Policy Institute of Ohio and in consultation with an advisory committee comprised of 73 representatives from aging, healthcare, and social services networks. AGE also gathered input through six (6) community listening sessions, 12 key informant interviews, six (6) town halls, and a community needs survey with more than 1,900 responses.

The State Plan is influenced by the six strategic priorities established by the Administration for Community Living (ACL).

  • Caregiving
  • Connecting People to Services
  • Economic Security
  • Employment
  • Protecting Rights and Preventing Abuse
  • Whole-Person health

AGE designed the State Plan to make Ohio the best place to age in the nation. It has seven (7) priority areas:

  • Caregiver supports
  • Community support and services
  • Financial well-being
  • Healthy food access
  • Quality and coordinated healthcare
  • Reliable transportation
  • Safe and accessible housing

AGE invites the public to review and comment on the State Plan, which is available for viewing on its webpage in the “For More Information” box.

AGE will accept comments from the public until August 30, 2026. Please email comments to OhioStatePlan@age.ohio.gov or mail them to the address below
