Unconscious bias is automatic, unintentional stereotypes and judgments that we hold as humans and can cause us to act unfairly toward others. These judgments can be positive or negative based on age, race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity and more.
As helping professionals play a vital role in supporting diverse communities, it is essential to recognize and address unconscious bias to provide equitable and effective care. This workshop is designed to enhance awareness and skills of helping professionals in understanding and mitigating unconscious bias while fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect in working with not only older adults, but everyone we interact with.

Presenter: DeAnna (Henderson) Wilson, Ph.D., is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Dr. Wilson serves as an academic coordinator at Walden University and is the President/CEO of Rejuvenation Training & Consulting LLC. Dr. Wilson has a plethora of experience in service to the community as well as extensive background in education and training.
This workshop offers 3.0 ethics clock hours for social workers, #RSX089101. This training meets the Ohio CSWMFT Board ethics training requirement. The Ohio Board of Nursing accepts events approved for counselors and social workers for continuing nursing education.
Cost: $40 for Ethics CEUs, or $20 without CEUs.
