President Biden’s proclamation of April as Caregivers Recognition Month spotlights care workers as unsung heroes daily assisting older adults and people living with disabilities to retain dignity and safety in their homes, as well as caregivers who tend to children.
The proclamation’s main message states directly to caregivers that “The work you do matters. You are there for families when they need you most — providing comfort, strength, and compassion that inspire us all. Your devotion to the people and communities you serve represents the best of America’s character, and we will always stand with you, ensuring you are seen, valued, and rewarded fairly for the work you do.”

The Agency also provides the Personal Care Aide Training Program for individuals impacted by the pandemic to gain employment as a Personal Care Aides, and advocate for increased wages for this vital profession.
