Upcoming Agency Workshops: Caregiving, Healthy Aging, and Continuing Education

The Agency has multiple workshops available for family caregivers, older adults seeking to work on their health and/or chronic pain, and professionals working with older adults. For family caregivers: Care of the Caregiver is a free, four-session in-person series held 1-2pm on the first four Thursdays in August at the Troy-Miami County Public Library – Aug. 3 Just Breathe, Aug. 10 Sounds of Stress Relief, Aug. 17 The Healing Power of Touch, and Aug. 24 Putting It All Together. Featuring presenters from the Good Stuff Foundation. Advance registration is required to attend one, some or all four sessions. Find more information here.

Balancing Act-Balancing Family and Caregiving is a free online webinar 11am-Noon on Tuesday, August 22, featuring speaker Dr. Kia Everett. Advance registration is required. Find more information here. Additional topics and dates are listed here through November.

For anyone age 60 and older and/or their caregivers: Healthy Living are free, six-week workshops for people looking to improve their own health, preventing or managing Type 2 Diabetes, and/or managing chronic pain. There are both in-person and virtual (phone discussion group) options. Information and materials are developed by the Self-Management Resource Center. Workshops are scheduled throughout the year in-person at various community locations and as phone discussion groups. Find more information here. Additional workshops are added throughout the year.

For 3.0 LSW & nursing Continuing Education Units: Social Security for Aging Industry Professionals is an online webinar 9am-12:15pm Tuesday, August 29.
